So, Who Am I?

I’m Heather!IMG_3273

My passion is inspiring people to realize the potential they have to create the life of their dreams, find joy in the ups as well as the downs and leave a lasting legacy for future generations. I am a Follower of Christ and my favorite scripture verse is the inspiration behind this blog:

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces [a]patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be [b]perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. (James 1:2-8 NKJV)

I spent a majority of my life failing at things and have now learned that through failure is how we grow and now consider myself an expert at “failing forward.” I am by no means perfect or an expert on personal growth and development, but I do believe that we are made stronger through connection, and I hope that through sharing my own personal struggles and wins can help inspire others. Everyone has a story that is worth sharing, no matter how small you think you are right now. My goal is to turn that belief on its head. I truly believe that God made me on purpose. He made you on purpose, too. God does not make mistakes.  He wants us to be brave and confident and speak and love openly so that we may bless the lives of others. Even if I can help 1 person live up to their potential and believe in themselves, that will always be my aim.

I am also a health and wellness ambassador and Independent Consultant with Arbonne International. I love all things skincare, makeup, and health.Wellness is not just what you are eating or how often you work out. It encompasses mind, body, and spirit. I feel blessed to work with a company that encourages positivity, growth, and helping others as well as pure, safe, botanically based personal care and nutrition products.

I have always loved to read, write, and talk. I guess you could say I love communication. I majored in Journalism in college and I never applied myself to make that a career, because I simply didn’t believe that I could do it. But, I am doing it anyway. Writing is my outlet and my passion and as long as there is a beat in my heart and breath in my lungs, it is what I will do.

I love learning new things as well as regurgitating what I have learned in my own life.  This blog will be a brain dump of what’s on my heart at any given moment. You can expect to laugh with (or at) me, cry with me as I share my life with you and attempt to find joy and light in what is often times a very dim world.

You can often find me near the water, at the mall, or at Disneyland. Probably drinking an Arbonne Fizz Stick, and habitually re-applying lipgloss.

I live in Los Angeles, California with my fiancé, my son Jake, and my dog Bowie.Screen Shot 2019-04-04 at 2.39.44 PM
